Easy Ways to Report Helicopter Concerns

Concerned residents are being advised to report online or over the phone about helicopter activity in the borough.

Due to upcoming events in the sporting calendar, an increase in helicopter movements can be expected, with machined coming into and out of the Barclays London Heliport in Lombard Road, Battersea. Therefore, the Council issues a reminder on how to raise concerns on the matter.

The major sporting events are the British F1 Grand Prix at the end of the month and Royal Ascot from June 18 to 22.

Take-off and landing direction for helicopters depends upon the wind direction but in general should be toward the middle of the river. Helicopters landing at Battersea should approach from either the north-east or south-east, following the middle of the river as much as possible, the cleaners in Putney said.
Where, for safety reasons, helicopters should keep a minimum height of 1,000ft for all but the initial take-off or final descent.
